The regular expectation and desire of every student after school is to get a good job, with a good pay in other to have a better life. But alas, the situation and economy of the country has proved them wrong, thus , making the youth to search for another means of survival aside their chosen discipline which is the 'handwork' , also known as entrepreneurial skills.
It is in this spirit of change and concern, an organization called Secret of Wealth Acquisition Programme (SWAP), whose core mission is to advocate the empowerment of young people with skills, training, and moulding them to be independent in other to reduce the rate of unemployment, organise an empowerment programme for Students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University and Youths.
The Organization President, Samson Ogundeji, a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, who spoke with Campus Mirror said organising the event is a privilege and it is important, especially coming at a time when the youth are faced with the 'What to do' decision problem after school due to the state of the country.
The skill acquisition and training programme which is slated to start on the 16th of April, will run for four(4) days at the RCCG New Song Parish, Ago iwoye with trainings in Entrepreneurs Works like Tye-dye, Tailoring, Soap making, Barbing, Shoe and bag making, Makeup and Gele, Cookery and pastries and etc. Samson Ogunneji, who is also a Trainer and Entrepreneur, feels there is more to education than just being in school, he said ' am not happy with the way things are going on in Nigeria, I feel there is so much we can do, and skill acquisition programmes like this will be of help'.
The event which solely sponsored by SWAP will feature resourceful and successful entrepreneurs with in depth knowledge on their chosen field. The intending participants are however expected to pay a token of #2500 which includes the registration form, certificate and other expenses.
