Rain Semester: Dr Adebanjo Admonishes OOU Students, Reveals Secret To Academic Success

Dr. Niyi Adebanjo, a lecturer in the department of English, Olabisi Onabanjo University in his admonition to OOUites, said "You score 40, you fail. 45 is the pass mark", is the new innovation of the NUC. Hence, he advised students to devote time to their academics as they resume 2018 rain semester.

In an interview with Campus Mirror, he explained that "Success in academics is not just the beginning of success in life. It's in fact the ultimate.."

He further said that academic success is founded on time management and self discipline.

Adebanjo advised students to spend more time on academics rather than socialization as it will only make them "go out of the university unsuccessfully".

He intimated Campus Mirror on the fact that the notion that degree doesn't matter anymore is a toothless bulldog in OOU, as "it affects your, image, your self esteem". "If you go out with an ordinary pass, you won't be able to flaunt it. But if you have a first class or a 2.1, you will be able to flaunt it. Even with a 2.2, you are still happy rather than going out with a third class or a pass.", Adebanjo said.

He urged Students to adopt new level academic seriousness in the new semester by attending lectures regularly, doing assignments and making time to reading everyday.
