Prior to the news that the school hostel has gotten 24 hours electricity supply, the insufficiency of water in specific hostels has been a prominent issue that has persisted.
According to reports gathered by Campus Mirror correspondent, the issue of inadequate water in the hostel has lingered over the years.
According to some, it seems unsolvable as the issue is as old as the hostel itself and the management of the affected hostels cannot just find means to end what has become a menace to the welfare of the students.
BVER hostel and OOU VENTURES have been labelled as the affected hostels that have been thrown in pandemonium since the beginning of this academic session as the usual practice over the years.
"The issue of scarcity of water is getting too much and we really need water especially we girls", Balogun Aishat stated in a chat with Campus Mirror.
Another affected occupant, Adewale Oluwamayokun also lamented on the situation saying, "I feel very bad because to wash clothes, cook and use the toilet is a problem".
The issue of the "bad hostel road" was raised by another occupant, Boluwatife which she believes is the reason for the high cost of transportation to the hostel.
Similarly she also labelled the scarcity of water as "a very bad situation". She explained further that "sometimes we have to go to the block industry or Tetfund we sometimes go as far as Faculty of Law to get water".
