*Says Union executives are worst Leaders of tomorrow
Olayinka Olugbenga, a student of Olabisi Onabanjo Aiyetoro campus has accused the Kempes' led OOU SUG of marginalizing Aiyetoro students, describing the union executives as 'worst leaders of tomorrow'.
In an article written by the 300L Animal Production student and sent to Campus Mirror, he alledged that the union executives since their inauguration have never been to the campus to see through issues concerning students.
According to him, the union excos has also not executed any physical project in the campus, adding that the union has also failed to fulfil their promise of providing buses to convey students to Ago Iwoye to write reference courses.
However, the SUG President, Akinbo Afolabi (Kempes) when contacted, described most of the allegations as false, explaining that the students in Aiyetoro don't regard the union executives in their campus as they believe they have NASS Executives, who according to him cannot do the work alone for them.
He said that it is not possible to give lesser importance to Ayetoro campus as most of their union executives gets to him when they have issues.
Kempes also described his relationship with students of Aiyetoro as 'cordial', stating that he is very close to most of the students and their union executives.
"I am actually very close to most of the students in Aiyetoro and their excos, we discuss pending issues and issues affecting them especially when it comes to their course form registration, their excos still came down to Ago recently and we discussed issues affecting them. I still had a meeting with the DVC regarding their rain semester course form registration and we've been trying to provide possible solution to it.
"Anything from next week, once harmattan semester result uploading is over, rain semester form should be reopened to all students generally to register and remove courses."
However, the SUG President noted that his administration has not done any physical project in any of the campuses. He said that the administration is still looking for how to do that across all campuses before the end of the tenure assuring that Students will be duly notified when the plan is executed.
On allegations of the union failing to make provisions for buses to convey students down to Ago Iwoye for their references, Kempes said that the SUG has nothing to do with students coming down to Ago to write references. He mentioned that the Union has tried to be of assistance to them but it didn't work out.
He however beseeched the students to make use of the executives they have in their campuses anytime issues arise.
