In the Meeting held and presided over in the palace of the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adegbenga Adenugba, on Monday,11th January, had in attendance, Caretakers, Landlords Association, Director, Students' Affairs, Students Officials, the Chief Security Officer, OOU (CSO), the DPO Police Station (Ago Iwoye Division), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (Ago- Iwoye Division),and others Concerned individuals, it was reached that forego Caretakers and Landlords let go four (4) months out of the yearly rent as a form of relief after the negative effect caused by the Pandemic.
In simple terms, resolution was that students who live in Ago-iwoye who are yet to pay their rents or owing a year's rent are to pay for only 8 months, those who have already paid their rent are to pay for Eight (8) months on their next rent.
In a Chat with the SUG PRO, Nicholas Alabi, on why the move was made, he said, "the Pandemic affected everyone including our parents and the Landlords economically, we deem it fit to talk with the Caretakers and Landlords, with the Ebumawe, to find out a favourable soft landing for all parties involved".
The Students are however enjoined to speak with their Landlords/Agents as the case may be Cerebral but promised a public official statement to solidify the Agreement.
A Press statement released by the Students Union also promise similar Development to Students living outside Ago-Iwoye as well as the Sagamu, Ibogun and Ayetoro Campus.
A Committee of Rent Intervention has also been constituted to oversee issues of noncompliance and it's related vices.
