Dean, Students Affairs addressing students |
The most anticipated OOU Students' Union Government(SUG) Elections, has been annuled and a later date set to be announced.
In an earlier discussion with Campus Mirror, the ECO Chairman, Oduwole Semiu aka Dibson, had made it known that he would ensure that the election was smooth, free and fair and where he finds irregularities, will annul the elections.
The election which was slated for Wednesday, 28th July, 2021, began about 10:30am but recorded discrepancies as some colleges and departments were unable to vote.
It was also gathered that a fake voting link was detected which misled and hijacked voters details.
The SUG Electoral Committee in its press release explained that the annulment of the elections was as a result of technical issues.
The Dean, Students Affairs, Dr M.S Oladimeji, addressing students who could not exercise their franchise at the monitoring centre, affirmed the election had to be suspended due to technical problems; promise a later, convenient date.
