The Olabisi Onabanjo Students' Union Electoral Committee has released timetable for the 2020/2021 SUG Election, announces the electronic voting mode this year.
The committee in its press statement yesterday formally announced the first-ever e-voting process of the committee in concession to the Management opinion.
The debate on the election mode has resulted in a delay in Election plans for the committee, a struggle the management has now won.
According to the statement, the Electoral activities will begin on Thursday 22nd July and end with the Senate Election on Friday 30th, July. The manifesto declaration will hold on Monday 26th, July and a demonstration and guidelines for Electronic voting will happen on Tuesday, 27th July.
Electronic voting is the first of its kind in the University Students Union, and scepticism has begun to arise on its credibility.
Recall the Electoral Committee in partnership with major media organisations in the University organised a Presidential debate last week Wednesday in a bid to probe the interest of the aspirants.
