Says, "OOU made me smart"

Popular Nollywood actor, Lateef Adedimeji and an alumnus of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) was in the Institution as a panellist for the OOU SUG Legal Summit that happened 9th of November, 2021.
The actor, who graduated from the Department of Mass Communication more than a decade ago was invited as a panellist to represent the youths on the topic, "The Nigerian Youth and Sustainable Nation-Building: Law and Enforcement Agencies in Focus." He was amidst other reputable panellists including Mr Femi Falana SAN, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, Mr Omobolaji Ladigbolu Esq. who, apart from Mr Femi Falana, are all alumni of the University.

Mr Lateef Adedimeji while addressing the students at the summit said, "Change begins with individuals as youths in the nation." He went on to narrate his story of endurance while at the beginning of his career when he once received one thousand naira as pay for a movie production at Ilorin and how he was paid only ten thousand naira for the movie that brought him to stardom, titled Kudi Klepto. He narrated his grass to grace story and urged students of his alma mater, to persevere and be determined despite all obstacles. He urge the students to search for their inner selves and the school will only help to bring it to fruition. He also encourages the youths to be more responsible the country will automatically become better.
The organiser of the Summit and Legal Director of the Students Union Government, Badru Lawal, while speaking with Campus Mirror about the event said: "I felt very happy for the success of the event as it has always been my dream to contribute my quota to the development of the OOU students community."
Lawal speaking on challenges encountered said financing the event was one of the major challenge, although understandable, another challenge was ensuring the attendance of those who graced the occasion due to their celebrated personalities, "But thanks to God, they all answered our call". He concluded.
