Tension is now growing among candidates and students of the mass communication department, as the ASCOM election has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Several Electoral activities such as; Declaration of intentions, campaigns, manifestos and other electoral activities have been ongoing within the Department, as interested students strive to find their ways among the offices in the Central Executive Council (CEC) of the Association of Students' Communicators (ASCOM).
Some students of the department share their views about the upcoming election; "I can't wait to witness this election as it is my first ever election to be witnessed since my admission into this department", says Ayomide, a 200level Mass Communication Student.
The course representative for the 300level students, Phoenix also says: "I'm eager to witness this election as candidates engage in electoral duels to claim offices in the CEC. I think that's the beauty of politics'', he added.
The Electoral Chairman, Abdul Salam Olamide (Kinq Manic) during an interview with our correspondent promises a free and fair election as security officers will be on standby on Election Day.
