OOU RELEASES REVISED ACADEMIC CALENDAR, SETS TO COMMENCE PHYSICAL CLASSES FOR STUDENTS JUNE 19

After two weeks of virtual classes, the school management has announced for physical classes to commence on Wednesday June 19th, 2024 with the semester's examination to commence on Monday, July 22nd, 2024. 

This news has gained both negative and positive reactions from students. 

In an interview with Adeola a 300 level student of mass communication department, she expressed her excitement upon hearing the news, saying she'd finally be able to get something tangible. According to her " Virtual classes makes you more relaxed, less attentive and sometimes you'd be unable to keep up with the pace of lecturer"

Faith, a 400L Educational management and business studies student said "Online classes is good because it helped me save transport fare but sometimes there are issues of bad internet connection and it's not good for accounting and calculation courses.” 

Fidelis Ilerioluwa, a 300L student from English department said that the news of the physical lectures is a very good one as it will help him and other students get back on track since exam will commence in few weeks time.

Toyosi from sociology department, 200L also said that "the resumption of physical classes is a joy to hear. The virtual class experience is nothing to write home about. Many classes missed due to this virtual class. We have cases of no electricity supply, data cost is very high now, not to talk of poor network issues.I can count the number of virtual classes we had, now we have to rush the whole scheme so we can cover for this semester. I just hope it doesn't affect students results adversely.” 

Aminat, a 400L history and diplomatic department said she's so excited about the commencement of the physical classes. According to her, "Online class has more challenges than physical classes. Physical classes gives room for direct interaction between lecturers and students.” 

Whatever the case may be, students are expected to take advantage of this opportunity and attend lectures regularly to prepare for their upcoming examinations.
