THE Students’ Union Government (SUG), Senator Oluwaseun Ogunmakinju (popularly known as Enzaim), has taken a proactive stance in addressing pressing issues faced by students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), as the new academic session kicks off.

Enzaim discussed this during a Twitter space held by the SUG on Sunday, October 13. While speaking, the SUG president highlighted several issues; including academic struggles related to lecture formats, transportation, library services, and persistent electricity issues.

"We met with the school management when rumors about online or physical lectures were circulating, and we discussed the academic calendar. The two semesters will run for 15 weeks each, and there will be no online lectures, as that is what the students want," he stated.

In response to transportation challenges worsened by rising fuel prices, the school management is considering introducing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, which will eliminate the need for petrol.

"These cars will help alleviate some of the transportation burdens students face," he added.

Enzaim further urged students to utilize the school library, noting that both the physical and E-library have been stocked with updated resources. "There are textbooks for all departments available on the E-library portal, accessible and free for all students," he said.
