OOU: VERDANT ZEAL UNVEILS AI, HYPER-PERSONALIZED MARKETING STRATEGIES

The Verdant Zeal Group, hosted the 'Innovention campus event,' themed 'Machine learning and hyper-personalised marketing,' yesterday, October 21, at the New Faculty Hall, Main Campus, OOU, Ago-Iwoye.


The workshop which was organised in partnership with other institutions like Babcock University, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, and Covenant University, explored the foundations of AI, computer vision, and machine learning techniques that Nigeria's leading industries utilise to develop highly customised marketing campaigns.


The 'Innovention' Series has become a leading thought-leadership platform in Nigeria that provides insights into how AI is shaping various sectors, including marketing. For university students, understanding these technologies is crucial for future career paths and entrepreneurial opportunities.


The event also featured a thoughtful panel discussion moderated by Dr Oludare Ogunyombo, a Mass Communication Lecturer at OOU, with Jeremiah Uchenna, an Artificial Intelligence and machine learning expert, and Tony Nwose, who emphasized the importance of promoting ethical AI practices, highlighting its potential to streamline human tasks and increase efficiency.


Experts highlighted AI's benefits while emphasizing ethical considerations and startup integration challenges. The importance of embracing AI in marketing and upholding moral principles was also stressed. The expanding use of AI in marketing was highlighted and emphasis on the Students' adoption of these technologies while upholding moral principles.


The event had in attendance, some notable personalities on and off the campus of OOU. Like the Registrar, Dr Caleb Orukatan; Professor Sola Akindele, who represented the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences (OOU); Dr Olubunmi Adebayo, Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Babcock University; Mrs Kemi Awoyemi.


Marketing Director, Verdant Zeal Group; Engr Temitope Johnson, CEO, TechFuture Nigeria; Professor Fola Adetunji, Head, Computer Science Department, Covenant University; Mr Opeyemi Adeyemi, Founder and CEO, DataDriven Solution; Dr Aisha Bakare, Head of Digital Innovation, Caleb University and representatives from other partnership universities.
