200-LEVEL FEE HIKE: MGT. REVERSES FEE AFTER NEGOTIATIONS WITH SUG

By Ayomide Odujoko

The University management has agreed to reverse the increased tuition fee for 200-level and 300-level Direct Entry (DE) students, after several discussions with the Students' Union.

After the school management initially decided to raise the tuition fees for 200-level and 300-level (DE) students by 20,000, they have now decided to revert to the original fees, ensuring that the Gentleman agreement between the SUG and the school remains intact, as contained in the memorandum circulated through the Union's official X page in the late hours of November 2.

The memo reads in part, "We are delighted to announce that after intense negotiations and unwavering advocacy, the Vice Chancellor has graciously agreed to a total reversal of the increased school fees for 200 level and 300 level (Direct Entry) students.

"The reversal of the school fees means that 200-level and 300-level (DE) students will no longer face an increased financial burden. This decision ensures continued access to quality education for all, regardless of financial capacity. The Union views this victory as a crucial step towards upholding the principles of equity and fairness in education," the memo reads.
