The OOU Students' Union Government (SUG) President, Oluwaseun Adeyemi, popularly known as Enzaim, has revealed that the long-awaited Marcopolo buses will resume functioning by the end of this week.
Enzaim revealed this in an exclusive interview with Campus Mirror on Tuesday, November 26. He said, “Before the end of this week, the Marcopolo buses will be available. We have spent over 1.2 million to repair the buses.”
He then attributed the bus crisis to various factors, including proposed fare increases, the sales of campus shuttles during the holiday, and the increased number of courses offered by the university, which has led to a larger student population.
“The school has currently increased the courses taken by students which has led to the increased number of students on campus and has made the bus not enough for students.
“Before the end of this week, the Marcopolo buses will be available. We also want to install machines that students can use to make payments with their Cowry cards so there won’t be any use of cash,” he added.
