The Sports Director of the National Association of Ogun State Students, Olabisi Onabanjo University Chapters (NAOSSOOU), Odufalu Faruq, popularly known as Ola Meleki, has made it known that the NAOSS IBIle Games 2025 was organized to promote cultural heritage and foster good relationship among students and indigenes of Ogun state.
While speaking with Campus Mirror on Monday, February 24, Faruq revealed the motive behind the theme of the competition and also gave reasons for the inclusion of other games aside from football.
"The National Association of Ogun State Students is an indigenous association, and that is the motive behind the 'Ibile Games.'
We are using it to promote our cultural heritage. That's why we have Ayo Olopon, Draft, and Ludo because, in OOU, most of the competition people do participate in is football; we introduced the Indigenous game to foster good relationships amongst students and bring back cultural heritage," he said.
He further hinted to students what they should expect ahead of the Indigenous competition and promised that it would improve participants' mental state.
"The competition will improve the mental and physical well-being of participants; it will enhance good relationships amongst indigenes in OOU. It will also draw students back to the olden days games like Ayo Olopon, Draft, and Ludo," he added.
Faruq, therefore, implores students to participate in the competition, affirming it will be an amazing event.
"The message I have for interested participants, most especially Ogun state indigenes who are in OOU, is to participate in the NAOSS IBIle games 2025, as it will be an amazing and memorable event, which will also be extended to the other campuses soon."
