Faculty of Administration and Management Science (FAMS) has emerged champions of the Football Lovers Association (FLA) Cup 2025 after defeating the College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES), 3 goals to 1.
The match, which took place at Estadio de Sun, saw the champions put three past their opponents before they replied once, after converting a spot kick.
The 2025 FLA champions coach, Oyenuga Sherif Ayomide, popularly known as Arix, while speaking to Campus Mirror at the post-match interview, could not hide his joy and also expressed the team's collective effort to secure the trophy.
“It feels good(to win). We're dedicated and determined, and we put a lot into this match and the whole competition to make sure our hard work and effort give us success today.
“Our secret is we don't have a particular player you can mark out; all our players are excellent, and we make sure that everyone is a threat,, especially our forward line. Everyone could score goals from our midfield to our forward to our wingers, we could utilize our chances and that was the best thing that gave us leverage over our opponents,” he said.
Furthermore, Arix has already set out another goal the team will try to achieve by trying harder to win the upcoming Student Union Government (SUG) Games.
“The SUG games that are coming, everyone will try harder. I'm very sure we'll definitely do our best and make sure we win the game. Luck matters in football, but at the same time, you need hard work. Luck doesn't just come without hard work; you need to have worked hard, then luck will now come with it.”
Meanwhile, the faculty of Education also clinched third place finish at the expense of Basic Medical Sciences (BMS).
