Entrepreneurship: OOU To Begin Production Of Paint, Portland Cement, Others’ – Prof. Ogunsanwo

The Olabisi Onabanjo University is set to begin production of paints and portland cement as part of it’s new vision for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

This was disclosed by Professor Abiodun Ogunsanwo, the Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship Studies and Innovations (DESI) in a sensitization programme held last Wednesday to acquit the University community about the new vision of DESI.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Professor J.A Agboola said that the University aims to make students employers of labour when they graduate. He added that the University is keen to bringing out the Entrepreneurship aspect embedded in all programmes it is running.

In his presentation, Professor Tunde Ogunsanwo said that the new vision is to make OOU the leading tertiary institution in the provision of entrepreneurial skill acquisition and knowledge.

He further added that the University will embark on production of household items, industrial chemicals, natural fibres, ceramics, waste folymer, e.t.c.

He also said that the University will introduce a compulsory SIWES programmes across all disciplines.
