SPELLING W.O.M.A.N

0 comments 0 views

When you unearth this poem,

kindly whisper a prayer to its lines

For I’ve met several women

in my little stay in life;

fair, dark, chocolate, short, tall, slim,

obese, shaped 8, all beauties to behold.

I have tried to spell w.o.m.a.n,

& my lips curved a smile

at the mention of each letter

that escaped from my t o n g u e.

Where is the home of happiness?

    in mother’s cooking pot

Of what monochrome is energy?

the painting of a wife’s  kiss

Meaning of DNA?

    DO NOT ANGER–her

Ask a mother where she finds joy?

she’ll tell you, in her child’s smile.

Now, read the first letter of each line

that’s how to spell a woman.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the eves out there.
