hilst resuming for the 2019 Rain semester, many student have noticed several demarcations serving as restrictions in some part of the OlabisiOnabanjo University campus in Ago-Iwoye. This has raised curiosity and questions as to why this was introduced. Perhaps, blocking several shortcuts that Students pass to access their lecture halls.
However, speaking with the Deputy Registrar, Corporate affairs, Mr AdeniyiOduwole, he revealed that “the policy of the present administration in University is to make the university environment aesthetic and to have a good ambience.”
In lieu of that, he explained that there is an external beautification going on across all faculties and departments. According to him, some of the beautification process include the planting of flowers and pruning of grasses.
“The main purpose of the demarcations is to restrict the students from walking across the lawns while grasses and flowers are being planted to beautify the campus.”, he told Campus Mirror.
He noted that most students are fond of crossing the lawns, which necessitated the barriers, whilst advising them to always maintain orderliness.
